Many servers have just been taken down for "brief additional maintenance (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=19675818273&sid=1)". As you can see above, the realms are due to be back online by 2:15 pm EDT. The list of realms are after the break.
We'll keep you up to date if anything changes.
Update 2:29 pm EDT: They are bringing the realms back up now (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=19675818273&sid=1&pageNo=9#171).
