Overall it seemed like a pretty good opening weekend for the ATF teams.

The Steelers started us off with an overtime win. Ugly with the issues they had running, but a W is a W.

The Seachickens shut out the Rams, giving them one more win that expected from the way Gryph plays them... :D

The Cowgirls beat out the Suckaneers, not that it was wholly unexpected.

The Falcons beat Miami, so sad Dane...but then Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre (and Adrian Peterson) won for the Vikings...so happy Dane. As Leno put it for the added bonus, Favre played an entire game without retiring!

Poor Shadow with his loss to the Ravens...again, not that this was wholly unexpected.

And of course, the Panthers. At least we now know that all the turnovers the Eagles defense generates in Madden are completely accurate? :)

Poll in the Charlotte Disturber today:

Should the Panthers bench Delhomme?

Definitely. His time is up as a starter. 4428 http://media.charlotteobserver.com/static/images/mi/polls/pollBar.gif 63%

Definitely not. Just a blip on the radar. 447 http://media.charlotteobserver.com/static/images/mi/polls/pollBar.gif 6%

Give him one more shot next week in Atlanta. 2179 http://media.charlotteobserver.com/static/images/mi/polls/pollBar.gif 31%

Well, to be fair...they were playing an unknown d-coordinator who did an excellent job of playing a plain vanilla offense in the preseason (i.e. - no film of what they would be doing) who just happened to be schooled by one of the best defensive schemers in the history of the NFL. Of the turnovers I saw, I'd blame Jake for two of them (the 2 picks by Brown..he threw the first one behind the receiver and just made a horrible decision on the second).

The interception by Jordan and the fumble should be attributed to the offensive line, especially the fumble...good GOD did Trent Cole have an absolutely clean shot on him. Protect the football sure, but the shock of seeing a standing D-lineman coming COMPLETELY unblocked is rather unnerving. The last INT I think was just him trying to get it to his playmaker and having him be covered by a better playmaker. He gave Steve the chance, Asante just took it away. Credit Samuel more than you blame Delhomme. :p

I think another chance against Atlanta is fair...what's stupid was giving him a huge extension after that Arizona debacle...

I watched most of the Vikings play yesterday, and while AP was in mid-season form, you can tell Favre wasn't totally ready. He didn't trow any INT's yesterday, so a 4 INT game isn't far around the corner...

All is not well in Kitty Land on various fronts... first and foremost was the news that the ailing in health owner basically fired his 2 sons (one being listed for years as the heir apparent) from the front office. One held the title of Director of Stadium Operations and the other was the Team President.....

Then there has been the whole Julius Peppers fiasco.....

There were quite a few WTF?'s heard when the new Jake contract was announced.....

Today's Chiefs Fun Facts
1. Brody Croyle, our starting quarterback for the Week 1 game, is now 0-9 as a starter for the Chiefs. He had a career high two TD's in the last game.
2. Of last years 53 people on the roster, 30 have been cut for this season. Only two of those thirty cut have been picked up by NFL teams, one is Tony Gonzales.

Another fun fact: You play the Eagles week 3...after they're undoubtedly smarting from having fifty kabillion touchdowns scored on them by the Saints. This also marks the return of Michael Vick to the football field (something I know their defense is just THRILLED about).

And Iggles cast-off Jeff Garcia is...an Iggle? o_O

Kolb's got to feel like the odd man out now though. Only one of the four (FOUR) QBs the Eagles have that hasn't been to the Pro Bowl.

If it wasn't for the fact that the guys who'd been to the Pro Bowl include someone who's 39, a guy with a broken rib and an ex-con who hasn't played in 2 years, you'd think the Eagles had the best QB corps in history!

Then go to the main Daily Show page and watch it there. :p Comedy Central is slacking on updating the individual videos, even though the current show is on the website.

It's the Intro - Violence Against White Children video.

I would like to note this morning that the link works without the post being edited. The fail belongs to Comedy Central.
