ATF in Battlefield 2?

So, Battlefield 2 (http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/battlefield-2/618411p1.html) is due to arrive in June. The first in the series, Battlefield 1942, was great fun. I played that pretty addictively for a while, although it was all solo play since I didn't know anyone else who played it.

This new Battlefield looks way better. Graphics are excellent and the gameplay is sure to be refined. So I was wondering if anyone was interested in picking it up. I was thinking it could be a good way to get ATF into another FPS. Nothing serious, just casual gaming and hanging out - I'm not really into the idea of matches and so on, too much of a pain in the ass.

I just think it would be fun, especially because the level system in WoW makes it difficult to hang out with everyone. I'm getting close to 60 so it's improving for me somewhat, but I remember how much fun I had playing Planetside with, say, Torque, and he's still in his 40s, which means to enjoy high-level content with me will take him a while. Same with SOBGrunt as well, cuz he doesn't have the time to dedicate to WoW that is required to get to the high levels quickly.

Plus, gnomes and elves and orcs are great and all, but there's something to be said for a game where a tank is a massive tracked vehicle with an enormous gun, not some long-haired blonde warrior with a mithril codpiece.

I didnt like the first one so probably wont be following with this game but go for it and make a ATF battlefield division that would be awesome. Ill be your chearleader :D. Who knows though I said the same thing about WoW :lol.

Looks cool, just wish the gameplay feed mirrored the movies more closely...the movies promise awesome graphics, the reality is kind of run-of-the-mill. However, Battlefield 1942 was enjoyable, especially the Desert Combat mod...and this is really just a DC mod on steroids. :)

BF2 looks cool and ive always been more of an action gamer myself (I have a temper as some of you may know). Im just worried about performance issues. BF2 is also coming out on XBox 360 so hopefully Live can play against PC players.

I'll be coming back to ATF with BF2... unless I'm not wanted anymore :( I was a big BF1942 (and the expansion packs) fiend. I lost several months to that game. I like the sheer scale of PS, but at heart I'm a sucker for non-persistent FPS games with objectives and ends to rounds / matches.

Holy crap that soon. And I am pretty much more broke now than I've been in 5 years. Times are tight. Maybe I'll count up all my change (I have a lot of it). Gonna be hard explaining to my wife that no, we can't go out for dinner, but yes, we can afford to have me driving a virtual tank.

I really hope they have a reasonable price on this thing but I doubt it...games these days are brutal that way, friggin WoW cost me $70 CDN and it has a subscription to boot. If it costs less than $50 I'll be happy.
