Heh, anyways, I will probably be looking for an outfit once the game goes live -- so I'd prefer to get started playing with you guys all through Open Beta. :) This game has the potential to scratch that itch that DAoC left me with -- and how.

Welcome to the ATF Message boards! We are a group of Tribes players that decided to get together and for am outfit for Planetside.

What Tribe(s) are you/have you been a member of? Also, you're pretty lucky- there are quite a few members from Minnesota. Wherre abouts are you at in MN?

You'll laugh I'm sure. ;)

My first and only competition Tribe was [S=A] (at the time, I could only play regularly from midnight to 3 in the morning, and of course, big as they were, they had a division in a time zone that fit the bill). I've been playing since release, though; I'm an old-timer on TW. I pub all the time still.

Anyways, I'm from extreme Southwestern MN, VERY VERY ugly patch of country. :)

Man I remember playing Strategic Alliance all the time in Tribes 1 days. Blue team, read team, gold team. Damn there were a billion of those f00z.

so you mean like beaver ponds? they're usually so stagnant though... you couldn't hardly call it "fresh" water.

It doesn't matter if it's stagnant or not. All Freswater means is that it's not salt water.

YES.

Except that that is fairly picturesque, like a bayou. Think less picturesque, toss in a silo and a waterlogged corn field and pig farm, crappy, reedy lakes that reek of decaying vegetation and swarm with algae (and will stain your clothes green, and are so full of pesticides you can't eat the fish).

And make it be almost perfectly flat, but kind of in a natural depression elevation-wise, so that clouds tend to stick around a lot longer, ensuring plenty of rain.

That's where I live.

We should give it to Iowa or something.

Downtown isn't so bad. North Minneapolis is very popular with the MLPS finest men and women (read: the police).
