Also, I've always played Battlefield games on PC, so it was about switching *to* 360, never from. Honestly, though, there's several reasons, but a big one is our 360 is on our main entertainment center for Netflix, and that's my wife's domain. I have no desire to muscle it from her as that's her thing. My playtime would therefore be tremendously diminished. You'd rarely see me on. Around the new year we're planning to replace the 360 with an Internet enabled Blueray player, so the possibility of moving the 360 to my PC increases since it won't need to stay with the entertainment center anymore..

Sometime in the future I may make the console switch-over when I give up on the costs of keeping a PC current for games like this. I'm not there yet, though. Ok, fine, and I'll give my crotchety reason that always stands of keyboard / mouse infinitely > gamepads for FPS games. In 3-4 360 FPS games, I've never gotten past hating the controls to enjoy the game very much.

I'll probably see about toying around with the beta a bit on 360 while it's available, so you may see me if we're on at the same time. I'll at least give it a try, but you'll have to bear with me bitching about how horrid gamepads are for FPS games.

I downloaded the beta today and every time I try to play, I lose my connection to EA. Anyone else have this problem?

He was a lot of fun back during the PS days. We would platoon up on the test server and go romping about. Drove a mean Vanguard as I recall, and one of the few times I've seen a 12-tank platoon in that game actually somewhat follow orders. It was weird.

As far as BF3 goes, meh...might poke at the beta. On the fence about buying though.

Tried the beta for about two hours, may give it a couple more chances, but as it stands the outlook on me getting it is grim.

Xbox is much better than PC at the moment. PC is so glitchy and artifacts like people running with their glun clip floating 1 foot from the gun. Or I would stop running and continue running for 5 seconds after or moving the mouse and not turning at all. I didn't have any trouble on Xbox other than trying to get in.

Ah, this is the fun I am having with the PC version. It's sort of playable when I first join, not super smooth mouse movements but at least moves where I want it, then it just gets worse and worse still things are just going all sorts of crazy. Framerates are great, I can see others moving around just fine while this goes on.

Yeah, that's odd. Haven't seen that one yet. Not sure what might cause behavior like that, especially if it starts out fine. Do you have a gamepad hooked up that might be stealing control, or have you toggles the mouse raw input option in game?

Nope, it does seem to work a little better if I do use an Xbox controller, but still starts wigging out. Toggled the raw input off and it became hyper sensitive.

So 32 v 32 conquest is a lot of win. The battles can be pretty epic.

The new map is amazing compared to metro, metro was such a bad choice to test the game. Its almost like they were trying to win over cod fans by showing off the smallest map possible and restricting it to infantry combat, which was comparable to cod but not what will suck people into the game.
