Tribes Ascend

Hi-Rez Studios announced last year that it's doing something massive with the Tribes IP. It just revealed a much smaller-scale project as well. Tribes: Ascend is an Unreal Engine 3-based, multiplayer-only, downloadable Tribes game heading to XBLA and PC in 2011.

Looks like this is just a smaller thing to get interest drummed up again for their MMO. I'm interested to see the direction they would take with a Tribes MMO, however.

Getting pretty excited about this game after seeing some of the quakecon vids.

aint no T1, but shit doesnt look bad at all. I'll take a "decent" tribes title over another fucking modern shooter anyday

Yes it does need some tweaks and hopefully they get fixed but not giving up on it quite yet :).

This looks great! I would love to see Tribes going again. Thats how I met all you folks way back when :) I remember when I used to have Tribes 2 practices with my old squad on Tuesday nights and matches on Thursdays. I have all the parts for a new computer sitting in my study just waiting to be assembled. I guess I better get a move on. Between this and Planetside I think my wife will divorce me by the new year. LoL.

Managed a beta key this week, in here as NilKilla, possibly other players in my Team will be playing through Team Special Forces, but it only seems like literally a few. There are a few things i miss, but to have them I think that they would have problems doing the F2P model

Well since I couldnt get Planetside working on my new computer. I downloaded Tribes Ascend. I went through all the maps and familiarized myself with the controls. I was only a mediocre player in T2 but always had a ball. I was suprised I held my own in my first CTF match. Chased down a couple of flags and had a good time. Wish they would increase the skate speed it feels like I'm walking. LoL. I'm on as Black0ri0n. Head back to work on Thursday so I will have to get my fix when I get home.
