Guillaume Matignon is the 2007 World of Warcraft TCG world champion. After three days of stiff competition against the best players in the world, Matignon is taking home the world champion title along with an epic $100,000 in prize money. Using a Horde Paladin deck, Matignon used the power of Hammer of Justice and The Abominable Greench to defeat [Eric Prieur]'s [Alliance Rogue] deck in the final match and claim the championship.

In addition to the world championship, this past weekend hosted a Darkmoon Faire, which was full of exciting World of Warcraft events. Thomas Foster and Jason Zelechoski won a chance to sit down to dinner with developers from Blizzard Entertainment (http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/wow/en/events/article.aspx?eid=25&aid=3597). Players also competed in Arena tournaments, treasure hunts, and leveling contests throughout the weekend on the exclusive Darkmoon Faire realm, as well as challenging the Blizzard Entertainment team to some matches in Warsong Gulch (http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/wow/en/events/article.aspx?eid=25&aid=3565). You can read about all the events of the weekend at WoWTCG.com (http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/wow/en/). Congratulations to Guillaume Matignon for winning the largest first-prize payout in World of Warcraft TCG history, and thanks to everyone who came out for the event (http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/wow/en/events/event.aspx?eid=25).
