someone (cant remember who) suggested that i post this info on the forums so that squadleaders can use it to make thier commands stand out from the clutter

/s \#FF0000 message

/o \#FF0000 message

for non techies the numer is a html hex color code, different code differnt color, the one in the example is red
various color codes listed below

#FF0000 - red
#FF00FF - purple
#FFFF00 - yellow
#FFFFFF - white
#99FF00 - green- kinda useless to put green but anyway
#FF9900 - orange
#6600FF - blue

you could possibly work out a system where different color codes mean different things, eg red for warnings

word of advice : dont broadcast colors in the sanc unless you want to be bombarded with /tells from n00bs who want to replicate it

-----------------EDIT-------------------------
found a huge chart of color codes at
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/reference/color_codes/

You can also bind MACROS in the game and assign them to keys, so this could and will be useful, nice info Ferret. You're already cool in my book man!

ok guys dont do this anymore, i used it the other day and a GM told me to stop, that it was a bug and they are going to remove it, then he set my grief to 999, but put it back to zero when i apologised profusely

Wow, that sounds like a gratuitous abuse of power for a pretty minor and unknowing indiscretion.

SOE isn't exactly known for their customer service... :)

*EDIT* Actually, in a way, I guess they are known for their customer service. It's infamous :)
