Ferret causes train chaos May 19 2003
Daily Post

A FERAL ferret caused chaos on a train as it ran amok through carriages and wolfed down the driver's lunch, a train company said yesterday.

Frightened passengers screamed as the animal clambered over their laps when it leapt on board at Leicester station.

It darted over seats on the Nottingham-bound Midland Mainline service, before it sneaked into the driver's cab and dived into his lunch box.

A company spokesman said the unwanted passenger then scoffed the man's cheese sandwiches and biscuits before he had even noticed the intruder.

"The passengers were all scared stiff that the ferret was going to bite them. They were all going crazy," said the Midland Mainline spokesman.

"We have recently introduced a clampdown on fare-dodging - we are thinking of introducing a new policy of ferret-dodging."

After discovering the animal, the driver radioed ahead to Long Eaton station, in Derbyshire, 15 minutes down the track, to ask for help.

RSPCA inspectors were called on board and took the ferret away in a cardboard box.

cardboard box, is that all that is required to restrain the mighty ferret, actually it usually takes much less than that to restrain my pet ferret, a backpack makes a perfect prison, he actually sorta likes it

Hmm, which is funnier... a wild ferret on a train or lighting a man on fire to warm him for life? I'm thinking the incineration

BEHOLD for i have tamed the mighty ferret

i dunno, he likes going into my backpack, they seem to like small soft spaces like that, even if the pack is open and on your back he will go in and stick his head out from time to time, really nice pets
