I saw that on Fark.com, the headline said:
"A fringe Canadian political party that proposes the union of Canada and America. Who could possibly oppose this, eh?" |

LOL love it. I have come across this sort of thing before. And isn't there something in some sort of official US document that says Canada can be a state if it chooses to do so at some point?
I think SilverTalon's probably got the most accurate assessment here, but believe me, this Canuck isn't going quietly. I may be a liberal but that doesn't mean I won't shoot people who try to take my land! As long as Canada keeps giving the US what it wants, which basically amounts to oil, minerals, lumber, and marijuana, I don't see any real trouble. But if the US runs out of something important (like water), look out!

Any nation can become part of the US if both their populace/government decide to and it is approved by Congress. If Alberta wanted to secede from Canada and apply to be part of the US, they could.
That was a big discussion back with the possible Quebec separation...would parts of Canada have decided that being in the US was better than being in a diminished Canada? Probably where you're remembering that document from. |

Ya Canada has a special status in the Constitutions because you guys were SUPPOSED to rebel with us.
Also so a survey where 60 something % of canadians think they will be part of the US in 50 years. |
