Anyone remember me?
Come on I know some of you have to...right? Ok, maybe not.
I forget who gave me my forum title, but it was for a good reason if I do recall.... After scouring the internet for what seemed like eternity (about 30 seconds) I finally searched thru the SOUP forums (formerly LOS) and FOUND the alliedtribalforces name. Ahh, success was within my grasp! I would have posted in the other more up to date thread but I have this huge dislike for any forum thread on 3 pages going on 4. Anyhow I'm thinking of taking the plunge and returning to planetside. Sooo.... What server, what faction, and who is usually on so I can bug you about all the new features . Also do I have to blow $20.00 to get the mechs, or can I get them with my vanilla anchient copy of PS from when it was released? Anywho If I logon in the next 3 days I can still take advantage of the 30 day comeback subscription. Hope to see some people out there, and I hope I can remember how to play.

ATF plays on the Vanu Sovereignty on the Markov server.
Don't think too many people are active all that often from ATF directly (most playing WoW), but Levo and Duel-J from Wolf Brigade are two of the more notable leaders to contact (since Wolf Brigade provided a lot of ATF WoW people). If you want to pilot a BFR for whatever reason, yes you need to get Core Combat as well. There's certain conditions you have to fufill to be "imprinted" to pilot one, and those are only completeable in the Core. Notable new features are: -Squad XP system - Amount of XP you receive is based on your proximity to the "center" of the squad. The more coherent the squad, the more XP for everyone. The whole back-end seems a little overly complex to think about, as it does make adjustments for people in aircraft who would naturally be farther away, for instance. -Handful of new vehicles, depending on how long it's been since you played. -Merit Commendations - little ribbons you receive after reaching a certain threshold of kills with a certain weapon and/or against specific targets. Shooting down aircraft in an aircraft will earn you an ace merit...killing ANTs will get you a blockade merit, killing with enemy weapons will earn you a "scavenger" merit, etc. -Altered the way broadcast warpgates work. If I'm rememebring the system right, you must have a valid lattice chain to use a gate as a broadcast, so if the base at the gate is hacked, you can't use it as a broadcast one. Never paid attention to how that actually worked out. Sure there's other stuff I'm forgetting, but that's the jist of it. |

ATF was not active any longer. I made the decision best for me to enjoy the game again. Besides, I left ATF in-game about 6 months ago, there was no complaint then...because there was no one to complain I'd likely come back if others would resubscribe, but I'm having fun with URF right now.
