Welcome back. Hope you've all had a good week. Got a few new things to talk about, so let's get started:

Hopefully by now, you've seen the BFR screenshots and read the BFR fiction. Those are the main item that remains on the Dev table. Looking pretty good, and we are now playtesting them daily. As we have for the last two Fridays, we'll be releasing more BFR material to the site by this weekend, this time in the form of an In Development article.

Next, we have to talk about BFR acquisition. As the fiction points out, BFR's will be attainable after a soldier attunes himself to the Core through a series of cavern battles. Part of this includes incentivizing Cavern Facility capture. And so we are working to make these captures grant Battle and Command experience, similar to how surface facilities grant experience.

Also, there has been a balance pass on Standard Assault weaponry. The previous theory on pistols and the Supressor has been to do low damage with reasonable accuracy. This has been changed, so the damage is higher with somewhat lower accuracy. The Repeater and Beamer will now do damage comparable to Medium Assault, but will be most useful at shorter ranges. The Suppressor has also received a damage buff, but is not quite on a par with Medium Assault. There has been no change to the Scatter Pistol or the AMP.

Further, Merit Commendations are still being developed for release. Also, feedback on interface issues and lock-on weaponry is being followed-up on and these issues are being investigated.

As a final note, the BFR update will likely be labeled version 3.0, to coincide with an upcoming PlanetSide/Core Combat re-release bundle. There will probably be a 2.11 update in the interim, but I just wanted to let you know that the numbering scheme will be changing soon.
