Re: Where am I?
Hey guys - My opinion of the Paladin in this game is that he is the last man standing. If you use him to his best capability, he can withstand more punishment than any other class in the game. This means, that he can take the hits, and then ressurect one of your allies.
The trouble with a Paladin is the nature of the game. Most people don't play this game so badly as to necessitate the full spec of a Paladin. From Horde-side PvP (admittedly on my RP server), the Paladin is a forced that is feared. He is so dang tough to kill, that most people will simply not aggro the guy. What does this mean in terms of his usefulness over all? In my estimation, it means you can watch over the entire battlefield, at all times, with little to no worries about anything else but determining when and where your heals and buffs will have the most effect at turning the tide of a fight. This means to me, that the Paladin is also the most effective communicator during a battle. He can type stuff out, click a few buttons, and the entire party can benefit from his leadership. However, this takes trust on a very high level within your party. Thus, my final opinion is that the Paladin is the toughest class to play. He has bad DPS, can't pull mobs to him like other classes, and is pretty much a 'specialty' class. If I wanted a leader character for a guild, however, I would want to start with a Paladin. A Paladin class allows team-mates quite a lot of mistakes. |

Well I dont think I can really call Niz a pally... he is more of a useless pile of shit than anything else. My most utilitarian character is Poomasta.

Re: Where am I?
I do better with my Warlock than any of the others....and I still only play it at about 1/2 capacity....
Actually my style of gameplay does not allow me to learn a class inside out. I get a good grasp of the main 2 or 3 abilities and rely on that. It causes me to suck but I have fun at it and it sorta annoys Silver so really its a win/win deal for me.... Last edited by Stoke; 09-29-2006 at 10:16 AM. |

Re: Where am I?
I am liking some of the new rogue stuff that is on its way. I really need to get the game working at my G.F.s house so I can play more each week.
Getting into airsoft has not helped my gaming time much either.

Re: Where am I?
LOL Stoke, it is a style of play to use a narrow set of capabilities. I mean, seriously, pushing a lot of buttons can be tiring and annoying. *grins*
But I am used to using as many tools as I can use to get whatever job done I can get. Its part of my fun in learning how to play the game. Even so, what does it matter if you suck at this game? You have friends here, and we have a good time. As long as you are having fun, then it is worth it. I have had a lot of hopes of grouping with you all in an instance, or a high end raid. I have had that hope since the beginning of this game. As of yet, I still barely know any of you. Now I have some folks that would like to play this game with me as I go, and I have brought them here so they can experience a bit more of a challenge than the typical RP server can provide. Win/win for all of us, if they enjoy the times we have, and we all get four more solid guildies to run with on Fridays/Sundays. [We are discussing our best day to group up] So you guys could grab 5 more players at high end, rather than just my solo-ing self. After all, its faster levelling to solo right? after almost 3 years, I disagree with that philosophy. Its boring, and tedious, and I get tired of it quite easily. |
