3-D Space RTS- Shattered Suns
Has anyone else heard of this one? I'm considering paying the toll, and playing guinea pig...
http://www.shatteredsuns.com/ The customization is slightly appealing, but I am actually more drawn in with the idea that they will consider localized economy, and gravitational/planetonial effects on combat/unit movement. |

Re: 3-D Space RTS- Shattered Suns
I'm...not seeing any good reviews for the game at all. Most people say that it would have been an ok game 10-15 years ago, but not so much now. Looking at the screenshots, they do look a bit dated, which is odd since this is apparently a brand-spanking-new game. Also, Amazon is offering a 55% discount on a game released 9 days ago. Those things in combination send up something of a red flag for me...
If you're looking for a space RTS, Sins of a Solar Empire ( www.sinsofasolarempire.com ) is by Stardock Games which 1) looks nicer, 2) has been positively reviewed by many people (including Penny Arcade, so you KNOW it's good ) and 3) is by Stardock Games, the studio that doesn't believe in annoying copy protection and often provides significant free updates to their games. I played it back in the beta days and it was an interesting combination of RTS and Civilization-type empire building. It's worth a look, IMO. |
