It's not a public beta, per se. It's just that it will be a stress test and they want up to about 10,000 testers.

If I post on the PS forums, I usually get a well informed answer...not every time, but a good number of times.

argh they sent the official first 50 emails from corporate last night which was said by smokejumper himself. So if you did not get the email today your not in the first 50.. They said they will be adding more and more each week.. Then the will load test.. Smokejumper said the number 20,000 so I am sure we will get in then.

P.S. I'm gonna lie about my system specs and say what they'll be in a couple of weeks instead. And maybe add some exotic components or a wacky OS config, just so that they can use me as a guinea pig for other poor souls with weird configs.

Hmmm... let's see... you have a Cray T500. Yeah. And you're running Dr. DOS on it as the OS. And you have a TNT RIVA graphics card - which isn't compatible with the cray architecture, but you got in there with some jumpers and a soldering iron and tricked the system into thinking one of the pipes was an AGP bus.

Try that one.
