28th Patch Notes

Monday, April 28th

1) You wanted more links. You got 'em.

Each continent got 1-4 additional lattice links in them to make the links more logical (for instance, Nerrivik now connects to Akna on Ceryshen). The exception to this is Searhus as that continent is "advanced" and is a harder nut to crack. It received no additional links.

We'll be reviewing gameplay with these new links in place and may change the links around again in the future.

2) Zoom scope is now fixed so it stays intact after switching screen resolutions. Other screen resolution switching issues were also resolved.

3) 1280x1024 resolution is now supported. Many LCD monitors support this resolution, so we do also.

4) Joystick improvements:
- Each joystick can have a maximum of 20 buttons and 3 POVs.
- All buttons on the joystick can be mapped.
- The shift button is activated.
- Throttle is no longer reversed.
- Throttle now goes all the way to 0% (used to not go below 20% due to a bug).
- Z-axis works
- X-axis defaults to steering in vehicles, Y-axis defaults to up/down, Z-axis is not defaulted to anything
- HAT switch is now supported
- Left/right control is now fixed for ground vehicles
- Other default keys include: button0 = fire weapon; button1 = swap firing modes/weapons; button2 = reload

4) Auto-repair now consumes resources correctly from a facility's Silo. Each of the different terminal types, the generator, and the wall turrets, when destroyed, will being auto-repairing immediately thereafter. As they do, resources will be consumed from the Silo.

REMEMBER: A facility that goes to 0% NTU will become neutral...and neutral buildings can be hacked, regardless of the continental lattice connections.

NOTE: If a building has 0% NTU in it, then auto-repair does NOT function.

SOME REFERENCE NOTES: Not all things autorepair at the same rate. For instance, each equipment terminal repairs itself to full in 15 minutes, while a generator will take 30 minutes to auto-repair from fully destroyed to full power. However, the generator has a LOT more armor points than an equipment terminal...far more than merely twice...so if you're looking to cripple a base, you should try to figure out which items give you the best "bang for the buck" for reducing Silo power.

5) Stabilized the process of mounting and dismounting hover vehicles.

6) Fixed yesterday's patch issue that made Sunderer turrets not aim correctly.

7) Command Rank 4 features have been commented out for the moment until we complete those features. The current state was too powerful for what was intended in the game, so we are removing it completely until we are able to finalize the feature.

8) A prevalent zone crash fix was made. This was a very common crash bug that was extremely elusive. Nice to see it dead.

9) A couple minor zone optimizations were made, improving player load handling.

10) You no longer accumulate statistics while in the Training Zones. Since those are "virtual" targets, they no longer increase your personal stats.

11) VoiceIP is now activated. To use it, follow these steps:
- Form a squad
- Once you have a squad, go to the "P" window and click the Squad tab.
- Click the "Host Voice Conference" button.
- Other squadmembers get a dialog at that point asking them if they wish to join the voice conference. They should click yes, if they so desire.
- To leave a voice conference, just hit "P", go to the squad pane, and click the "Leave Voice Conference" button.

WARNING! This feature has very little testing done at this point. If you experience issues, it is recommended that you simply cease using the feature for now, report the bugs, and wait for a fix. Thanks!

12) Proximity maps for the Dropship Center, Interlink Facility, Amp Station, Technology Plant, and the Bunkers have been improved to be more accurate.

--------------------------------

Known issues we are pursuing:
- We're in memory leak hunt mode. They will be found. They will be killed.
- Zone crashes and client crashes are on the big hit list. We've located a couple client crashes, but they are not yet resolved. Fix soon.

Tonight we should see if we cant lock ourselves into a deep enemy base and try making it go neutral now that NTU consumption actually works

I wanna join the outfit badly

I had a fun time tonight though on Beryl. The peeps are pretty cool and i got some comments about my Terran Republic MiniGun from some people. I like the gun and it uses much of the ammo i already carry around. I also have this problem were the games run great until a shot is fired so i gotta sneak up on people and let loose my fury of lag bullets. The links work pretty well and i was involved in a Hack of 2500 and a hack of 3500. I am one kill away from the implants. I wish i had an idea of what continent you play on.

Oh BTW the continent i play most on is Ishundar and i have walked quite a bit of it.

Stuwey is TR. Can't invite him into anything. Now if he was smart, he'd delete his character and play VS with us.

Gryphon is very right, I changed to Vanu before i ever got my discs. prob is i still prefer the TR chaingun and it works pretty well when stolen and the maelstrom of bullets fly

Vanu BR6
Certs:
- Medium
- Heay Weapons
- Harasser

i had at one point three TR chainguns stored in my locker but i used them and died at the same interval, it was also the only reason i looted my own corpse.

OMG yea, that's what I've been trying to remember to do. With my heavy cert I want some of those fucking ass phoenix missiles. Shoot them back at all their vehicles and MAXes and make them wah my pussy hurts bitch like we do.

Could you imagine MAX flying over the base wall while you're planning an attack just to have him toss phoenix missiles from above on ya. MMM,, me wanna kill TR/NC.

Actually the Heavy Assault cert is for that ubershotgun the NC tote around, as well as the TR magic Chaingun of Bloody Millions of Bullets +5. You know, the Phoenix is an NC weapons system, right?

And besides, a MAX can't usa any weapons but the built-in ones. But it would be cool, though.

I got a locker with 6 Mini-Chainguns, 6 Strikers, 5 Repeaters, and 10 Cyclers, Plus 7 medkits and a grenade to fill the gaps. I had a fun time trying to collect them weapons but if you see me and a locker together i wouldnt mind sharing.
