Yeah, TF2 looks neat, but I'm afraid it would be like my Battlefield 2 addiction. 2 weeks of non-stop playing and then never touching it again.

Re: Another quiet day here in forum land
My thoughts exactly. I figure that will happen soon for me, ive been playing it waaaay too much lately. And its just the same thing over and over again, since Capture the flag is way more fun than capture points, so I literally play the same map, over and over, and over, and over, and over, and....you get the idea.

Re: Another quiet day here in forum land
In somewhat related news, Hellgate London is looking like a pretty good timewaster. From the same minds as Diablo, it can be summarized thusly:
Diablo + Sci-Fi + FPS + MMO aspects in a Singleplayer game = Win Don't know how the final version will turn out, but from what I've seen in "entirely in publicly available information from the publisher" () it'll be exactly what a Diablo fan expects. Now, if you hated Diablo (or never played it like some slack owlasses out there), that obviously means it's not for you. Obligatory video, because they're badass: |

Re: Another quiet day here in forum land
Ha, yeah...someone else commented on that and it's like "Yeah..it's the SAME people...they just don't have the Blizzard logo anymore..."
Between you and me, anyone who played WoW would be right at home wandering around in the NPC parts of the game...reminded me of how much Blizzard stole from Diablo's design to make WoW. Granted, it's not really stealing when it's your property, but you know what I mean. If they can keep to their promises of regular content updates (the MMO-ish part...it's entirely optional, but a "subscription" gives you access to new levels, classes, more character slots online, etc. supposedly), then they'll have a very good game. It already has the innate advantage of "if the studio goes belly-up, you still have a game to play offline" over it's true MMO brethren. If you liked Diablo, I'd recommend pre-ordering it. They've got a list of vendors that will get you access to the beta as well. |

Re: Another quiet day here in forum land
Cmon, Diablo II was where I learned to be the feral beast that I am (was) in WoW. It was basically the same as the first one with massive grinding and set building. Hmmmm, Im beginning to see some similarities and some truth from the whole 'stealing your own material' argument. OMGWTFBBQROFLPWNED! They just took their own game, made it 3D, and threw it to another successful franchise! But in all seriousness, I like both Diablos and am now waiting for Banne to give me back my 360 so I can give halo 3 a shot.

In the grand scheme I don't see anything outlandish...of course, "Playable" and "Enjoyable" are sometimes a bit different... |
