Twas the night before Lich King, and in World of Warcraft
Not a creature would camp, dance, moo, silly, or laugh
The servers were hung and all instancing ceased
In hopes the expansion would soon be released

The children were nestled all snug in their beds
Only orcs; no tauren, trolls, or undead
And I all in brutal from my l33t PvP
Had trekked to the inn for some rested XP

When out by the zeppelin there arose such dissent
I wondered if Blizz started a world event
When what should I see, out there on the streets?
Twas a musclebound orc, and a mess of elites!

He was giving out buffs, which were awesome but brief
I knew in a moment twas Thrall the Warchief.
Was he giving a quest, or was this an illusion?
He started to yell as we watched in confusion

"Come raiders, and twinkers, and casuals too!
Come on PvPers, get out of your queue!
To the top of the bank, to the top of the wall!
You can dash, you can mount, you can even slowfall!"

I then soon heard from the top of the roof
The prancing and pawing of each Tauren hoof
The sight, I admit, was somewhat perplexing
But not quite as much as the Death Knight slash-flexing.

She was dressed all in epics, from her helm to her rings
With SP and AP and other such things
A bundle of loot she had flung on her back
For hitting and critting and capping attack.

Her droll little mouth was drawn up in a sneer,
As if immune to root, stunlock, and fear.
A dps class of the highest rank
But viable as an endgame tank.

"Her kind," Thrall said, "are not our foe!”
They join our cause. To Northrend they go
To fight for our freedom, our honor, and purge
These hallowed lands of the vile Scourge.”

"But you see," said the Death Knight so calm and malicious,
"I met the dark, and I find it delicious.
We stole from Arthas!" The Death Knight glowered
"Still think retadins are overpowered?”

"But where," I asked, "Did you get all your loot?"
"My chest has less stats than one of your boots!"
"I got them in Northrend, and so will you.
You’ll wear full blues in a day or two.”

"It's a land of new quests, and wondrous gifts,
Of casual content, and paradigm shifts.
In this new land you’ll find epic apparel
Perhaps you will even find something for feral!

Thrall raised his hammer, and roared with great power
Then jumped on his mount and rode for the tower.
But I heard him exclaim, as the Zeppelin took flight.
TO NORTHREND! TO NORTHREND! TIS ARTHAS WE FIGHT!
