Honestly I'd be pissed if this was real pricey, but if we get more areas, weapons, vehicles etc., I'd be happy to pay $20 or $30.

No offence but if this is true, I'm out. Fuck that bullshit. I'm paying $12/month so that I can have this game and I expected updates like this to be included within that money I'm allready spending. Fuck that.

I would only buy an Expantion pack after atleast a year and a half has gone by. And then the pack would have to be the equivalent to getting a new game to make me want to buy it. I say that what ever thay said they would put into the game should be put into the game for free since we already pay for it. If they want to add something major like naval combat, then I could see something like that being an addon patch, but not a stand alone expantion.

New areas and maps require new graphics. They said when the game was released that those kinds of assets would have to go in an expansion pack since a download would be prohibatively large.
Platoons maybe free regardless of wether you buy the expansion pack, since any expansion pack will have to be released at the same time as a patch. Spork isn't answering cause it's a 2 sentence blurb in a magazine known to get their info wrong all the time. When CGW prints it, or GameSpy puts it in an article, then you might see a comment from the dev team, if they haven't announced it officially by then. |

Maybe that word about PS just being a place for burnt out EQ people to play till EQ2 is released is making more sense.
