[SWG] Happy Fourth of July!

That's right, it's Independence Day here in the good old USA! So take a minute today to remember those other Rebels 230 years ago who determined that the people of this former Imperial colony could and should determine their own destiny, then presented their former ruler with a Declaration of Independence.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

While we're still working on some of those, it says something that our forefathers thought enough of this idea to proudly stand behind it.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

That's a lot to put on the line. Now, 230 years later, in the midst of another war (or at least the aftermath of one), we should all take time to think about what we can do, individually and together, to continue to make this country, this "great experiment," the grand country foreseen by that small group of men two centuries ago.

And for all you non-Americans out there ... Happy Tuesday! (Today is still a good day for fireworks, no matter where you live.)
