Still want to be shown the ropes or are you going to go back to your regular addiction? Does anyone know if Cannon ever came back? |

Re: Todays Downtime
The highlights from my time yesterday:
Log in as Silver, CB is already in the shooting range. I join him, we fire off a few clips and I say "You're just here so you don't look like a total n00b when Stoke gets here, aren't you?" To which Cannon replies "Yeah..." and I go "Yeah, me too..." After about 20 minutes of refresher on the weapons, I head out to Forseral, Cannon keeps playing around. Gwydion -> Dagda, the VS are about 200m from the walls and the NC are doing a damned good job of keeping us at arm's reach. Try to drive around, too much NC armor. Try to sneak around with the infantry, too many NC snipers. So I go "screw this...I'm getting Doom (my sniper)" Get back to Dagda, smack some stuff around (Stoke is treated to the sound of "Tap-tap baby! Tap-tap!" as I mow down Phoenix users). Cannon joins in with a whole slew of vehicle certs...forgets to pick up engineering. After I score about ten sniper kills, the fighting moves indoors. Yay... -_- Rather than getting Silver (my Heavy Assault trooper), I just kind of wing it. We take Dagda (despite Cannon's earlier assertations that we'd get pancaked) and we then push on Lugh while Cannon goes AFK in Dagda. I literally walk into Lugh shortly before the Dagda hack finishes, walk to the CC unopposed by TR tanks and planes and hack Lugh. While I was on my own and got pasted by the TR eventually, the disruption is enough and the VS take Lugh with ease. Pwyll, the Amp Station, falls handily after that. The VS then manage to hack Bel and Neit from the TR simultaneously, and about the time I decide to log out the VS are pushing Ogma with the TR and NC fighting amongst themselves in that little four base cluster. We went from one base to dominating the majority of the continent in the span of about 30 minutes. I'm not sure Cannon ever came back from AFK... The highlight of the evening though was during the Dagda siege when over TS Cannon asks "Um...how do you get out of your vehicle?"....HE HAD LOCKED HIMSELF IN HIS VR VEHICLE Turns out he had parked it too close to an equipment terminal so he kept opening the terminal instead of getting out. Still, that was freakin' hilarious...I almost crashed the Mosquito I was flying at the time. |

Re: Todays Downtime
Meanwhile, I'm listening to all this chatter and cackling on TS while waiting for an 18 hour download to complete.... Getting totally bored, I log into WoW on Lightnings blade and sign a guild charter for a guild called "Night Elves Ate My Baby"....
Shortly after that I just said to hell with it and watched tv..... |

Re: Todays Downtime
It does take some getting used to, I actually committed a mortal sin - I did an actual "Upgrade" from Windows XP and surprisingly enough it has been the most stable "upgrade" of a MS OS I've experienced. The bad thing is that really is not saying much. WoW, Steam and FEAR worked, but still there have been issues, especially with AV and Malware apps,
Defender is not working. Windows did not recogniz that I had Avast AV loaded.. I finally loaded the beta of "one care" but Vista's security center still won't run Defender. I use firefox so defender is not entirely too crucial. and as long as WoW, Firefox and the Media center portion of the OS run acceptable I can live with a few annoyances |
