Re: Borderlands
It's out today and I'm really itching to get it. It's about $33/person *if* 4 people go together and buy the 4-pack special which they have on Steam. I'd for sure be all over it if I could entice 3 others to do this.

Re: Borderlands
Picked it up off Steam, because Steam is just so easy and convenient! *waits for check from Valve*
My four hour impressions of the game: The Good
The Bad
The Indifferent -Voice chat is built-in, but very Xbox Live-ish where it's just talk and it goes. Obviously, it's like that because of Xbox Live and it's not horrible, but it can be jarring for those used to Push-to-Talk...especially if you don't want your teammates hearing you tell your wife that you'll be to dinner in a few minutes. |

Re: Borderlands
I'd say that mostly covers the points worth mentioning. Also, just in case it wasn't mentioned yet--there are a lot of guns in the game. The core game itself is very solid and coop should be some good fun. The single quest tracking could use changing as well as the free for all looting. Something more akin to WoW and rolling would be better if a couple people want something as right now fastest hands win the loot. You can drop any loot you get, though, and give it to someone else--even if you've used it. Also, need to bring up--there's lots of guns in the game... needs to be mentioned if it hasn't yet.
Any which way, I think it's accurate to call it Diablo with guns. If you like a real FPS (no dice rolling for damage / criticals - your FPS aiming skills mean something) and the aspects of Diablo where you're always looking for better loot (did I mention there are lots of guns you'll always be trading up?), this should be a good one. |

Re: Borderlands
I think I'll hold out for something with more guns.

Re: Borderlands
I don't know Stoke..I mean, they could have added a pistol that shoots incontinent beagles at people but I'm not that far into the game. Maybe there is one...

Re: Borderlands
There are a TONS of guns in Borderlands.. But no real good way to see what is better... But it is a fun game. At least on the Xbox..
