STO Screenshots

Eh...

I like that they are showing (hopefully) what the game actually looks like rather than souped-up renders. Graphically a bit weaker than Eve in terms of quality of textures and stuff, but the Star Trek design aesthetic is much, much better (I like symmetry, m'kay?).

I'm hoping they have a way to avoid the WoW model of quests (or missions, as they'd undoubtedly be called). I see that being rather cheesey overall in that setting (not that it isn't in WoW or other MMOs, really).

It'd be cool if they would have random worlds with random encounters...but, I'm probably dreaming too big there. Still, should be interesting when/if it comes out.

By the way, I found out that anyone interested in the STO closed beta gets access if you do a lifetime or 6 month subscription to Champions Online. I'm not that interested in Champions, but I may do the 6 month thing in order to get into the beta. If anyone else is planning on doing the same, let me know so we can team up together and form a fleet for ATF.
