Greetings!
Hello all, I hope I am posting in the correct forum. If not I am sorry!
I am one of the chief officers for Angry Marmot, a VS outfit on Markov. Malthus, one of your officers introduced himself to our outfit on our forums so I am likewise doing the same. It's good to see some old Tribes players as I myself played it quite bit. We worked with your outfit tonight some and it was a great experience for our outfit even though the TR zerged us completely in the end. I hope that in the future we can work more together to crush the TR and NC. You guys were great and your team is very tight like any good ol' tribe should be. Hope to see you all on the battlefield! Hey Thug! Good to see some non-ATF Vanu players on this board. I wish I could've been there with you, but since I won't be getting the game until in about two weeks, I'll just have to wait. Keep up the cooperation, though, and I will gladly join in as soon as I can manage.

Heyas Thug! It was great fightin beside you guys. I hope Dakota wasn't too bad to deal with.
I thought it worked out pretty well last night, perhaps in the future we could pick a night and a target and formulate a plan in advance? That should help get us moving and keep us moving a little smoother. I'm certain after last night that both units are capable of doing great things together. Do you guys use any kind of Voice Communication? TeamSpeak? Game Voice? Communication is key to operating successfully, and anyway we could inprove the inter-outfit comms would certainly help. |

Yes, we had a blast working with you guys. As always, we are always willing to team up with other outfits. We usually have nearly a full squad of outfit members on every night, sometimes two. Last night we had three going because of our event planner. So if you guys need a squad just send me, hacksaw, tomsawer, ekim, daywait a tell.
Right now, only the squad leaders use gamevoice as we wanted to keep the voice spam down. But if you have any suggestions please feel free to tells us about it. Last night, I was literal drowning with just typing, I couldn't keep up with 3 squads, squad members asking for orders, getting tells, etc.. etc.. I shouldn't have been driving a sunderer also, LOL.. Cya guys in the game! |

What we do (in theory) for voice comms is this:
We use Teamspeak (http://www.teamspeak.org ) for a couple of reasons. 1) it's got good sound quality at a small bandwidth footprint. 2) It lets you create different channels and offers a whole range of commands to switch to or whisper to the various channels. You can even use the GV hockey puck to do the switching (I do and it works great). We have seperate channels for each squad and a command channel. (Here is the theory part) Each person joins the ts server, then enters planetside and when they are invited to a squad switches to the appropriate channel. The SL's or a designated radio person has a key set up to talk in the other channels also and feed updates to the other SL's that way. If something needs to be discussed at length, the SL's switch to the command channel to discuss it then jump back to their squad channels to relay the info to the troops. We also use the outfit chat to communicate...and to goof around as friends are likely to do I say theory because In reality we frequently end up all in one channel, but if that happens we all do our best to keep un needed "chatter" to a minimum or to outfit chat. We have found it's next to impossible to get 2 squads worth of people reacting using only typed chat, the ability to at least list to the voice chat (some of us don't have mics, some have pc's where they would disturb sleeping kids/wife at night) is a neccesity for solid organization. I see that Grunt has offered you guys use of one of his TS servers, I assume it could be the same one we use (though I might be wrong) in which case it's really just a matter of setting up hot keys to switch channels and we could be communicating inter-outfit in a similar manner as we do inter-squad. If you need help setting it up, feel free to ask, I'm sure he or any of us can help. |

Sounds good, I'll try and convince people to move over to Teamspeak from GV.

I think that the TeamSpeak server supports GV.
