Successful ATF server
I successfully started and played the newly released Linux server tonight with RocketMad. I couldn't get it to show up on the server list, I'll tinker with it tomorrow.

Ok, server is going again. The name is "Allied Tribal Forces" ip "64.246.50.71"
Still might need some tweaking. Let me know if it is/isn't showing up on the server browser. *edit yup having some trouble getting it to show up on the server list. Last edited by Ghryphen; 06-15-2005 at 12:53 PM. |

Ok I hear it shows up on the server list now. I have it set to 64 people, the bandwidth is there, the processing power may not be. So let me know if we can get some population on the server when/if problems start popping up.

Gryph, what are the stats on the server?
The LoS server is a dual xeon 3.06 with 2 gig of ram and with 22 people it never gets over 3% of cpu Unfortunately I can't convince the wife to let me have the next tier of Fiber so it only has a 2meg upload. I can get about 22 people on before I run out of bandwidth. I'm told that disabling the ingame voip can save both bandwidth and processing power. You might want to go that route if you find no one is using the voip. You can also run the voip on a different server to spread the cpu usage around. |

It is a pretty simple box: 2.6 Pentium 4 with 512mb RAM. The server is in a datacenter with gigabit links in Texas however.

I get my best pings from Texas servers. I think comcast in my area gets onto the backbone in texas, which is ok by me.

Was on the server last night...twas fun to just play around (since I couldn't fight with nobody else around). Don't usually just fiddle around with stuff when I'm a "game" so I finally got the chance to use the choppers and jets...and promptly scratch off "pilot" as one of the jobs I'll be doing in the game.

Hehe ya, that is what I have done too, I decided I am not pilot material. If you can't fly more than 30 feet without crashing while nobody is on the server, how can ya do it while bullets are flying at you.

You made it 30 feet? Wow...I was lucky when I got the thing to move before blowing up.
Guess I'm sticking with my SAW and SpecOps loadouts. Least I'm a half-way decent shot. |

We won't be getting on a heli with Cass driving from past experiences .
I can do barrel rolls very well until I die from being out of bounds .
