I have the Viewsonic vp912b and absolutely love it. That one looks pretty nice Jadal, though the cabinet is kind of ugly That has a nice response time, mine is 12ms and I have no problems with ghosting.

I have a 19" LCD that came with my dell. I kinda regret not going with the bigger one for the sole purpose of getting 1600x1200 resolution.
My wow ui can get a bit crowded for my liking. |

yea this is my first LCD so I'm wiggin over it just a bit
I have my doubts about the 3ms/6ms, seems a bit exaggerated when most of the LCDs are over 10ms. I was looking for one with an 8ms when I found this one. The only other thing is the resolution. some ppl really like 1600x1200. Ive tried my monitor as high as 1280x(whatever) and for me it seems about as big as I can go before my eyes start bleeding uncontrollably (at 1280 I have to put my glasses on, if you can help it dont get old ). I've picked out the rest: ABIT AN8-ULTRA Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Mobo ASUS Geforce 7800GT 256MB CORSAIR XMS 2GB (4 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice 1GHz FSB Socket 939 SONY 16X Dual Layer DVD+/-RW (time to copy movies ) +odds and ends This one is a bit more expensive than the one I built for WoW (1k vs 1.6k) but I'm hoping the xtra cash helps with all the little gaming extras which is something I didnt take into consideration on my last build. Thanks for the input guys. edit: muzo drove the price up to 1.8k uh yea thanks "friend"?! Last edited by Jadal; 11-07-2005 at 01:48 PM. |

u gotta remeber that a 19" LCD has about the same screen size as a 20-21" CRT. So that 1280 is gonna be a littl easier to see. I am pissed because i know my computer can handle 1600x1200, but my monitor just dosent handle it.
Only saying that becuase i wish someone would have talked me into it back then. |

Also, that a pretty sic setup u got there, what kinda of hard drive are you going with?
is SATA2 out yet? Defenetly go with at least one 10,000rpm drive, should help with load times. Or do a raid 0 with 7,800 drives. |

I have been thinking of a new monitor, do they do anything diffrent/better than CRT? Dont know if its worth extra money for something smaller.

Cass,
They are more expensive but worth it. No eye problems, it's always nice and bright (good for certain games who are really dark) They are smaller, so it takes less space. Everything is sharp as hell. It's a good investment! |

Its a decent monitor, but I always recommend the Apple monitors. They have a much better display ratio and it truely makes a difference.
Now before I get slammed with Anti-Mac shit let me just say that Macs suck my left nut... but Apple did make the iPod and their Monitors bad ass.
