Re: Christmas Card Exchange
Hey Sam, its not metal but more on the blues side but have you listened to Gov't Mule?
If'n ya remotely think ya like some blues.... you need ta check it out. Guitar player and singer is a NC boy....he plays off an on with the current Allman Bros lineup. Good stuff. |

Re: Christmas Card Exchange
I'm kinda schizoid when it comes to music, I haven't found a genre that completely disgusts me yet - OK Disco scomes REALLY close, but it is related to funk and funk is awesome - Maceo Parker, Tower of Power, George Clinton thick sticky funk.
Is Gov't Mule traditional guitar blues or is it more of the stevie ray type? I like both but Stevie's sound is just so good For blues vocals I like Eva Cassidy, sad story - died of cancer at 36 in 1997 - most of her albums came out posthumously but she did the best version of stormy monday I've ever heard. |

Gov't Mule is a southern rock/jam band formed in 1994 as an Allman Brothers Band side project, but has taken on a life of its own. Like many jam bands, Gov't Mule does not get a lot of radio airplay but is popular due to constant touring and intense fan loyalty. Many popular rock musicians claim Gov't Mule as their favorite band including James Hetfield of Metallica, and Henry Rollins of Black Flag and Rollins Band. |

Re: Christmas Card Exchange
Nice! Southern rock is awesome Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Bros, and even Molly Hatchett were formative influences in my young life and imbued in me a love of their style of music and an intense hatred of Jack Daniels (painful, oh so painful memories from teenage life)
